A man who went missing off the east coast of Trinidad yesterday morning while scuba diving was found alive several hours later by a service vessel. The man, a Petrotrin retiree, was reported missing while spear-fishing with two friends close to EOG Offshore’s platform, off Pt Radix, on Trinidad’s east coast.
According to a police report, the three men dived into the water earlier in the day but by 10.30 am only two of them resurfaced. After failing to find their friend the men alerted the Coast Guard and the Air Guard.
In an interview with the T&T Guardian yesterday, public relations officer of the Coast Guard, Kirk Jean-Baptiste, said the man was found in good health. “He was found in good health by the service vessel for the platform around 3 pm,” he said. The vessel which found the man belonged to EOG Offshore.
