CrimeWatch host Ian Alleyne was on the scene of the tragic murder/suicide in San Fernando last Saturday, which claimed the lives of Jessica Brereton and Anil Lalmansingh.
Last weekend Brereton was shot dead in her car by Lalmansingh, her 41-year-old boyfriend, who then turned the gun on himself along Princes Margaret Street, San Fernando. The incident was witnessed by Brereton’s five-year-old daughter Kensiyah, who flagged down a motorist to get help.
Alleyne was on scene moments after and was told by an eyewitness that the couple pulled into an empty lot of land along the street moments before the incident.
The couple sat talking in the front seat with the child in the back before two gunshots were heard. A single gunshot was heard moments after that.
Eyewitnesses said Kensiyah frantically ran out the car seeking assistance and was taken in by a nearby resident for safety. The police were then contacted.
Brereton and Lalmansingh worked at Iere Express Couriers Ltd and had been together for more than two years, but family said Brereton broke off the relationship late last year.
Brereton’s funeral service was held on Thursday.
In another story, Jenny Paria sought Alleyne’s assistance and protection from an abusive relative.
Saying she had been experiencing abuse for the past eight years, she pleaded with women of T&T to speak out and leave abusive relationships because the only outcome is death.
Alleyne was enraged when he saw the extent of her injuries and appalled at the handling of the matter by the Arouca police, as the relative is now on the run after the woman recently made a report of abuse there.
Alleyne called on the relative to contact him urgently on 294-4081.
In another case, Alleyne aired footage he received from the owners of a theft at Faud Mustapha’s Hardware in El Socorro, San Juan.
A man was caught on camera shoplifting from the establishment and is wanted for questioning.
Alleyne called on fans to view the footage on his Facebook fan page and contact Crime Watch.
The CrimeWatch host is also currently looking for two men in connection with a robbery at Mon Desir Road, Fyzabad, on March 1. He aired footage of the suspects allegedly stealing a compressor, grinder and amplifier, all valued at $43,000, and called on the public to assist in bringing them to justice

Alleyne is looking for a suspect in connection with the killing.
The matter is still by investigated by the police but no arrests have been made.
