Claims of gender-based violence at the University of the West Indies (UWI) Mona Campus, Jamaica aren't going away.
Last week, Campus Registrar Dr Camille Bell-Hutchinson disputed a study presented by former lecturer about a culture of gender-based violence on the campus.
Today, The Gleaner reported plans for an emergency meeting of campus officials after an attack on a female student by a male student.
The incident, involving a first-year female student, took place on Chancellor Hall around midnight on February 10.
The allegation is that stones were being thrown from a group of persons, including the male student, in the direction of the female student.
The female student has been released from hospital, Gleaner reported. The extent of her injuries has not been ascertained. However, a photograph being circulated on the social platform, What's App, shows what appears to be a nasty gash on her forehead.
In the meantime, the police have arrested the male student.
