A 35-year-old Laventille man is in hospital after a January 13 incident with the police in Port-of-Spain.
According to police, they confronted the man, after receiving reports that he was seen brandishing a cutlass on Park Street around 9.30 pm.
Police said when they confronted him, he lunged at them with the cutlass, and they shot at him once and disarmed him.
The man, from Trou Macaque, was injured in the right hand.
