A total of 37 former employees of the Ministry of Trade, Industry, Investment and Communications were honoured for their years of service in the Public Service at the ministry’s staff appreciation luncheon on December 16 at the Banquet and Conference Centre, MovieTowne.
The ministry’s acting permanent secretary Norris Herbert, in addressing the retirees, who served in various capacities and divisions, urged them to enjoy the new chapter in their live.
He also encouraged them to “embrace the new opportunities that are before you, take time to enjoy the things in life, perhaps that which you could not do while in your professional careers’.
Herbert also urged current employees to network and learn from the retirees’ past experiences and “not under-rate the work and foundation which they have laid for us today.” The luncheon was themed People of the 60’s.
