Police have detained a 23-year-old man in connection with a $310,000 robbery in Claxton Bay yesterday morning. His accomplice is still at large. The two reportedly entered the home of Bruce Chen, 62, a business owner of St Margaret’s Village. Chen and his family were asleep when the two men went into his bedroom around 3.30 am, armed with a bolt-cutter, a cutlass and a gun.
Police said the men terrorised the Chen family but did not give details.

Chen was then robbed of $310,000 in cash. A report was made to the St Margaret’s police and officers led by PC Dina later arrested  the man, got a warrant to search his home and allegedly recovered $29,000 of the stolen loot. The search continues for the other suspect. In a separate incident, three men from Port-of-Spain are expected to appear before several ID parades today.
The men, who range between the ages of 27 to 33, were arrested hours after a report was made that Ramlal’s Bar, located at Thompson Trace, Fyzabad, was held up by three armed men on Saturday night.

Reports indicate that the men held up the cashier and patrons at gunpoint and robbed them of over $10,000 in cash and $3,000 worth of jewelery. They drove off in a gold colour Almera. Inspector Anderson Parryman and a team of officers responded to the report and the men were arrested in San Francique, Penal. One gun and some of the cash was recovered.
